Donald Trump is convinced he can do the impossible and turn New York red in November – telling New Yorkers: “What have you got to lose?”

After attendees flooded out of his Michigan town hall early, the former president was unexpectedly back on the campaign trail in the New York on Wednesday evening, a state the Republicans haven’t won for decades.
The 78-year-old, who struggled in a ‘painful’ interview on cryptocurrency this week and insisted his rambling is actually ‘genius’ in another incoherant rant, spoke to thousands of supporters at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island.
“Wow. This is a big crowd. I’m thrilled to be back in this state with thousands of proud patriotic New Yorkers who we know are the heart and soul of America,” said Trump, who then claimed he can overturn a 10 point deficit to Kamala Harris.
He declared: “The reason why I’m here. It hasn’t been done for many decades. Not for a long time. We are going to win New York.”
Trump told the cheering MAGA crowd that he will reduce taxes, crime and levels of stress in the Big Apple and wider state.
Calling New York the “arteries of American commerce,” the former president slammed the “radical left Democrats” for spiralling housing costs and rotting highways.
He also claimed “disgusting encampments of junkies” mean New York kids are unable to play little league baseball anymore, while the subway is “squalid and unsafe.”
In a bid to gain support, he asked: “With crimes at record levels, with terrorists and criminal pouring in. Vote for Donald Trump. What the hell do you have to lose?”

Trump added: “New York State will be like a third world nation. If it isn’t already. It is. I think it is.”
Despite being a Queens native, Trump has virtually no chance of winning New York in November.
The Democrats have won the state in the last nine elections, with six of those victories coming by a huge 20 percent margin.
Before his Long Island rally, Trump made an unexpected stop off at NYC’s only Bitcoin bar, PubKey, where he claimed he could turn NY blue.
“I love New York, I’ve always loved New York,” said Trump, who then ranted about immigration.
“New York has a lot of problems and we’re going to make New York great again and hopefully win.
“I think we have a real chance of winning, with hundreds of thousands of people coming from prisons and jails and dumped into New York. The people don’t want that.
“We’ll work with your mayor and governor and do a lot of great things to New York. We have to bring it back.
“It’s so unfair. To have hundreds of thousands of people dumped into the city and the state. You just can’t do that. No place can sustain that.”
