Donald Trump vows to reach Mars if he wins election and will ‘talk to Elon’

Donald Trump has pledged to reach Mars if he wins the presidential campaign.

The 78-year-old Republican candidate wants the US to reach the Red Planet “by the end of my term”. He also envisions “great military protection in space”.

Trump said he will engage SpaceX boss Elon Musk to kickstart the mission.

Speaking to supporters in North Carolina, he stated: “We want to reach Mars by the end of my term. We want to do it and we want to have also great military protection in space.

‘I’ll talk to Elon. Elon – get those rocket ships going.”

In addition, Trump has promised to disclose UFO close encounter videos from the real-life X-Files if he is re-elected to the White House in November.

He asserts that he will compel the Pentagon to declassify the footage for public viewing.

Billionaire Musk has expressed his desire to colonize Mars and plans to launch his Starships to the planet in two years.

The tech mogul, who owns social media platform X, aims to send a crewed flight there in four years.

Musk anticipates the flight rate will increase “exponentially from there”, with the goal of “building a self-sustaining city” in approximately 20 years.

However, he believes that if Trump’s rival for the White House, Democrat Kamala Harris, wins, humans won’t reach Mars.

He stated: “Trump supports a government efficiency commission to allow great things to be done, Kamala does not.

“We will never reach Mars if Kamala wins.”

Donald Trump has revealed that he does not think he will run for president again in 2028 if he loses the upcoming November election.

In an interview on the “Full Measure” TV show on Sunday, 78-year-old Trump said he was unlikely to run for office in the next election.

“No, I don’t. I think that will be it. I don’t see that at all,” he said. The former president would be 82 if he were to run for the 2028 election.

President Joe Biden’s age raised concerns amongst members of the Democratic party about whether the 81-year-old was fit to run for a second term.

Biden stepped aside earlier this year, after he faced growing calls from within his own party to leave the race following his weak performance in June’s TV debate against Trump.

On Saturday, Trump held a rally in North Carolina, claiming he would be a better champion for women than Vice President Kamala Harris, who is vying to become the first female president.

In his first outdoor rally since the second apparent attempt to assassinate him, he argued women would be safer with him as president and would “no longer be thinking about abortion.”

“I will protect women at a level never seen before. They will finally be healthy, hopeful, safe and secure,” Trump said.

“Their lives will be happy, beautiful, and their lives will be great again. So women, we love you. We’re going to take care of you.”

The former president said women won’t have to think about abortion because decisions about regulating it are now left to the states. Many Republican-led states have taken steps to restrict or eliminate abortion access after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade in 2022.

Meanwhile, Harris accepted an invitation from CNN on Saturday to debate Trump on October 23.

But the former president said it was “too late” for another debate. “I’ve already done two,” Trump said.
