NEW: Post-DNC Poll Reveals Game-Changing Shift-LGT

A recent poll conducted in the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) revealed major shifts in voter sentiment as the 2024 presidential election approaches. The August Voter Omnibus Topline report, conducted by Echelon Insights, exposed new trends that could shape the outcome of the upcoming election, and a new national leader.

One of the most striking findings of the poll is the widespread dissatisfaction with the direction of the country. Only 29% of respondents believe that the United States is headed in the right direction, while a significant 64% think the nation is on the wrong track. As the 2024 election nears, economic issues remain at the forefront of voters’ minds.

According to the poll, cost of living is the most pressing issue, with 25% of respondents identifying it as their top concern. Immigration follows closely behind at 14%, while jobs and the economy rank third at 12%. The poll also shed light on the approval ratings of the current administration. Joe Biden’s job approval rating stands at 43%, with 55% of respondents disapproving of his performance. Vice President Kamala Harris fares slightly better, with a 50% approval rating and 48% disapproval. These mixed reviews highlight the uphill battle the Democrat Party faces as it seeks to maintain control of the White House.

Interestingly, when asked to assess the overall success of the Biden administration, voters were divided. Forty-six percent rated the administration as a success, while 52% viewed it as a failure. Despite the challenges facing the country, voter motivation remains strong. The poll revealed that 89% of respondents are highly motivated to vote in the November 2024 election, with 77% describing themselves as “extremely motivated.”

Perhaps the most significant finding of the poll is the tight race between the two leading candidates. In a hypothetical matchup between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the poll shows a virtual tie, with 49% of respondents favoring Trump and 48% backing Harris. When asked to rate their likelihood of voting for Trump on a scale of 0 to 10, respondents gave him an average score of 4.70. Harris, on the other hand, received a slightly higher average score of 4.95.

With the country deeply divided on key issues and both major candidates locked in a close contest, the coming months will be crucial in determining which party can successfully navigate the complex political landscape and secure victory in November. As the 2024 race heats up in its closing stages, both Harris and Trump have been ramping up their efforts in pivotal states and gearing up for a critical upcoming debate.

Trump has been vocal about his preference for live microphones during the debate, similar to their previous face-off. “We agreed to the same rules, I don’t know, doesn’t matter to me, I’d rather have it probably on, but the agreement was that it would be the same as it was last time,” Trump said.

In a visit to Arlington National Cemetery this morning, Trump marked the third anniversary of the deadly Afghanistan airport bombing. Meanwhile, Vice President Harris took a pause from campaigning today, voicing her continued support for Biden’s decision to withdraw from Afghanistan—a move Trump and many others have frequently criticized as a failure of the current administration.
