Pop superstar Lady Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, recently spoke with Fox News Channel, where he applauded former President Donald Trump’s plans to end taxation on tips.  Germanotta, the owner of the New York Italian restaurant Joanne Trattoria, drew on his industry insight, claiming the proposal would be highly beneficial to both restaurants and servers.

Host Neil Cavuto introduced Lady Gag’s father, stating, “He’s the owner of Joanne Trattoria an incredible menu, what they do with garlic, don’t get me started. Joe, great to have you. Your take, a lot of your worker, they rely on tipping, along comes Donald Trump and Kamala Harris saying we will take the tax off tips. How will that impact them, you, the restaurant?”

Germanotta said, “I think it is a great thing for them and good for the restaurant. 75% of their income comes from tips. Effectively, Donald Trump is giving them a raise. It gives them more disposable income. If wages get increased all right, the hourly wage, that shows up in menu prices but this pays the employee. for what they do as well. It will allow them to not work as many jobs. Most of my employees have two positions, server and bus boy positions. I think it’s a great thing all around. I think the president was brilliant in throwing this on the table.”  He emphasized, “I think it is a win/win for everyone.”

While Germanotta spoke favorably of Donald Trump’s agenda, his pop star daughter, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has made highly critical public statements regarding the Republican presidential candidate.  Lady Gaga recently delivered an emphatic speech calling on Americans to vote against Trump, claiming the country “depends on it.”

“Women and all the men with daughters and sisters and mothers, everybody identify now is your chance to vote against Donald Trump, a man who believes his fame gives him the right to grab one of your daughters or sisters or mothers or wives by any part of their bodies. We need you. We need your family. We need your friends. We need your heart,” she said.

The singer continued, “Vote like your life depends on it, or vote like your children’s lives depend on it, because they do. Right now, it’s time for action. It’s time to muster all of our energy, every ounce of us, every ounce of hope and optimism and enthusiasm, every ounce of fear and frustration and discouragement. Now is a time to show up and vote like this country depends on it, because it does.”

Former President Trump detailed his plan earlier this year, stating, “For those hotel workers and people that get tips, you’re going to be very happy, because when I get to office, we are going to not charge taxes on tips. … It’s been a point of contention for years and years and years, and you do a great job of service, you take care of people and I think it’s going to be something that really is deserved.”
