“Brazenly Lying”: Associated Press and Kamala Obliterated after Taking Vance Comments Out of Context in Horrible Way, Retraction Issued

In yet another example of the corporate, mainstream media pushing something other than the representative truth about what a conservative has said, and politicians on the left following suit, the Associated Press and top Democrat politicians like Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, took comments made by Senator and Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance well out of context in an attempt to paint him as a crazy person.

As background, the incident, which began on Thursday, September 5, began when Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance spoke out about the recent school shooting in Georgia, the horrific incident in which a 14-year-old student allegedly opened fire and killed two fellow students and two of the teachers at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.

Sen. Vance, commenting on what happened, noted that school shootings occur largely because schools are not properly defended. He said, “I don’t like that this is a fact of life. But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools. We’ve got to bolster security, so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and kill a bunch of children, they’re not able.”

The Associated Press quickly “reported” on Sen. Vance’s remarks, writing, “JD Vance says school shootings are a ‘fact of life,’ calls for better security.” As might be expected, the AP was quickly roasted by people on social media and updated the headline to read, “JD Vance says he laments that school shootings are a ‘fact of life’ and calls for better security.” It added, for context, “This post replaces an earlier post that was deleted to add context to the partial quote from Vance.”

The AP wasn’t the only one to push an incorrect story about what happened. The Harris campaign attempted to attack the Trump running mate by posting a clip of his remarks with the caption, “JD Vance responds to the deadly shooting in Georgia by saying school shootings are just ‘a fact of life’ and attacking common sense gun safety reform.”

Vice President and 2024 Democrat candidate Kamala Harris reposted the clip and said, “School shootings are not just a fact of life.” She added, “It doesn’t have to be this way. We can take action to protect our children—and we will.” Similarly, Tim Walz, her running mate, wrote, “This is pathetic. We can’t quit on our kids — they deserve better.”

Sen. Vance and his campaign were quick to roast the incorrect stories. A spokesperson for Sen. Vance utterly toasted the AP for its remarks, accusing it of “brazenly lying” about his comments. That spokesperson said, “This is yet another case of the fake news media brazenly lying about a Republican politician. Senator Vance said exactly the opposite of what the Associated Press claimed.”

He continued, “It should come as no surprise that the AP lost any and all credibility it had years ago, because they will lie about literally anything in order to prop up the Democrats. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has called for all police officers to be removed from schools, putting children all over America at risk. It’s yet another example of how Kamala Harris’s weak, failed, and dangerously liberal agenda makes her unfit for office.”

Similarly, Sen. Vance himself, attacking Vice President Harris for her incorrect claim about what he said, wrote, “Kamala wants to take security out of our schools instead of protecting our children. Instead of addressing her own failures, she lies about what I said. More desperation from the biggest fraud in American politics.”
