Bullish Nicola Sturgeon digs her heels in at Holyrood_Nhy

Does former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon have no shame?

In March 2023, shortly after she stood down, the fallen star of the SNP was arrested in connection with an ongoing fraud inquiry into £600,000 of missing donations. She was released without charge but remains under police investigation.

Her husband Peter Murrell, meanwhile, who was SNP chief executive, was arrested a second time and charged with embezzlement. They have since split.

Yet now, she has indicated she will stand again in the Holyrood election next year.

It’s not as if she’s been making great contributions to parliament either. Since she returned to the backbenches almost two years ago, Sturgeon has spoken only three times.

This is the same Nicola Sturgeon who memorably said Labour lost power back in 2015 because they were ‘lazy, complacent and arrogant’.

‘Remembering that me old mate Carol Vorderman took credit for bringing down the ‘corrupt Conservatives’ and installing Keir Starmer and co. I just thought I’d check what she’s got to say now that this government has proved to be so incompetent and corrupt.’
