Labour’s Diane Abbott has sensationally claimed that the party is guilty of “institutional racism” during an event on London’s Southbank.
Diane Abbott speaks outside Hackney Town Hall
The Hackney North and Stoke Newington MP was speaking to Afua Hirsch in the run-up to the release of her memoir ‘A Woman Like Me’ at the Southbank Centre in the capital last night.
According to UnHerd, she insisted “there is no doubt that there’s institutional racism in the Labour Party”, and added that “Labour takes black members and supporters for granted.”
The veteran MP had the whip removed after claiming that Jews that did not experience racism “prejudice”. She had the whip reinstated in May.
Ms Abbott was highly critical of the current party leader
The Corbyn ally also blasted the Prime Minister for the his purge of Labour left.
She said Sir Keir Starmer was “harsher than Tony Blair” in his treatment of the left-wing of the party, arguing that “the left of the party is on the downturn at the minute.”
She added that “it’s corrosive if you’re not willing to listen to your members, your MPs and the public”, going on to say that “the idea that you have pliant voters” is “very wrong”.

But it wasn’t just her own party that Ms Abbott fired on last night. She also had a fair dose of criticism for a leading light in the opposition.
Kemi Badenoch is still in the running for the Tory leadership. Ms Abbott accused her of using racial politics to get ahead.
Asked whether there were ethnic-minority MPs in Britain who were, in host Hirsch’s words, “anti-black”, Abbott reportedly said that “Kemi [Badenoch] has really advanced her career by saying those sorts of things.”

Keir Starmer and moronic cabinet aren’t doing the one thing that would free-up prisons
Jason Hoganson was jailed for attacking his ex-partner
If those jubilant, champagne cork popping scenes outside Britain’s prisons this week – when 1,700 lags were spewed back onto the streets courtesy of Starmer’s early release scheme – didn’t make you sick to your stomach then this will.
Just minutes after being released under this scheme a man was re-arrested on suspicion of a previous offence of rape and sexual assault. So THAT’s the kind of people we’re letting out.
But the real stinger is the fact that despite throwing those 1,700 scumbags back onto the streets and another 3,500 in the next few weeks – it will only buy Starmer NINE piddling months before all the prison cells are all full again.
So, is this how the British justice system is going to work under Starmer – violent, nasty criminals get banged up for shamefully short sentences and before they’ve served even a fraction of them they’ll be freed to go out to do more of their dirty work.
And so it will go on…….. every nine months thousands of THE worst robbers, rapists, sex abusers, who should rightly have been behind bars for years, won’t be. They’ll be at home in front of the telly planning their next job, their next drug deal, their next attack on some poor unsuspecting victim.
Keir Starmer released inmates early to free-up prisons
Does Starmer and his moronic cabinet not realise that while crime is already spiralling of control – hence the jam-packed jails – putting tens of thousands of them back onto the street’s every year before they’ve done their time is going to create a whole new crimewave that no police force in the land is going to be able to control?
And just look at the people they’re going to be releasing – Adam Andrews, 37, shook a 21 day old baby so badly the poor little mite is now blind, paralysed and has 40 seizures a day.
This pig of a human being was sentenced to just THREE years for that. But he’s about to be let out under this new scheme having just served a pathetic SIX months.
This man – who literally took away a child’s life without actually killing it – is exactly the kind of prisoner we were promised wouldn’t be released under this scheme yet he’s likely to be.
We were told it would only be petty criminals. So is blinding and paralysing a baby classed as petty these days?
The baby’s Mum is naturally distraught: “What he did to my baby is one of the most horrific things you can do to a child yet he’s being released. If he’s not classed as a serious offender for nearly taking my baby’s life who is?”
And she’s right. And yet again we find that Starmer has lied to the British people. Because likely to be joining Adams for a pint down the pub shortly is Shane Riley,44, from Swansea who has served barely nine months of a 23-month sentence.
He threatened to kill his partner and followed through by kicking, punching and headbutting her – all because she’d dared to break up with him. It’s beyond sickening.
And all this is happening to get Starmer a piddling nine-month reprieve with our prison overcrowding problem. And what is Starmer going to be doing in the next nine months before all the jails are full to bursting again? Have you heard him announce the building of new prisons? Have you heard him commit to major works in our existing prisons? Nope, I haven’t either.
So, presumably he’s going to have to keep releasing serious law-breakers back onto the streets the result of which will be anarchy. Because killers, rapists, and robbers will go out and do their worst knowing there are no real consequences to any damn thing they choose to do.
And Starmer’s right hand in executing this hideous scheme is the woman who laughingly calls herself our justice secretary, Shabana Mahmood.
She was asked this week to confirm that no dangerous prisoners would be released early. Her response, which shows she clearly has no clue what’s going on, was: “We have taken every measure available to exclude people who have committed serious violence, sexual violence and offences connected to domestic abuse.”
Well that’s tosh because of the two examples I’ve just cited one is serious violence, the other is domestic violence. The other people lined up to be freed are robbers – massive amounts of violence there – , drug dealers, and those jailed for child cruelty.
Does Shabana Mahmood not class these are “serious crimes” because I pretty sure a majority of British people do. And I’m bloody certain the victims of these crimes do. But hey, what do the victims of crime matter. If this Government doesn’t care whether old people die of hypothermia this winter it sure as hell doesn’t care about blinded babies or women battered to within an inch of their lives by their scumbag husbands.
Even more insulting to taxpayers is the fact that some of these criminals being released early are being put up in bloody hotels at our expense because they’re homeless. And London’s foolish Mayor, Sadiq Khan, reckons prisoners should be bumped be to the top of the social housing list to cut re-offending.
So these no-marks hurt people, they rape them rob them and they blind babies – and not only are their sentences cut grotesquely short they’re then put up in hotels (with free minibar) or they jump to top of the housing list? You really couldn’t make his stuff up.
All this makes a nonsense of Starmer and Reeves claim that this country is on its backside. How the Hell can it be when we’re spending billions putting immigrants up in hotels, we’re also giving billions every year in foreign aid to countries that are richer than us and now we’re putting up violent prisoners up in hotels and giving them free houses?
Why isn’t Starmer doing the only thing that will make this overcrowding problem go away – building more prisons. And its utterly pointless saying the real solution to overcrowded prisons is to reduce offending.
How the Hell’s that ever going to happen when we have a Government that’s actually creating a crimewave by letting thousands of the worst offenders back onto the streets?
