RFK Jr. Slams DNC For “Installing” Kamala Harris As Democratic Nominee

After dropping out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsing Donald Trump last week, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been highly critical of the Democratic Party.  In his remarks, RFK Jr. slammed Democrats for “installing” Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the ticket, echoing critical sentiment that the move undermined democratic processes.

Criticizing the Democratic National Committee (DNC), he said the party “installed a candidate who was so unpopular with voters that she dropped out in 2020 without winning a single delegate.”  He further argued that the DNC did so after “a sham primary that was rigged to prevent any serious challenge to President Biden.”

Kennedy also called out the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago, saying, “Instead of showing us her substance and character, the DNC and its media organs engineered a surge of popularity for Vice President Harris based on—nothing.”  RFK Jr. suggested that since the Democrats have nothing substantive to discuss about their platform, they have relied on bashing former President Trump.

Emphasizing the lack of an agenda to discuss, Kennedy continued, “Who needs a policy if you have Trump to hate?” he questioned.  RFK Jr., who has done a litany of interviews throughout his campaign to draw attention to his platform, blasted Harris for seemingly avoiding the media, giving no interviews or press conferences since taking over for Biden in the race.

Kennedy, whose family has been an icon of the Democratic Party over the decades, claims the party has abandoned the values it once had.  He argued that, ironically, the left has become an opponent of Democracy.  “They did it by weaponizing the government agencies. They did it by weaponizing the government agencies. They did it by suing the opposition, and disenfranchising the voters,” he claimed.

RFK Jr. continued, “Judging by [Harris’s] bellicose, belligerent speech last night in Chicago, we can assume that ‘President Harris’ will be an enthusiastic advocate for this and other neocon military adventures. (Harris had boasted to the convention: “I helped mobilize a global response — over 50 countries — to defend against Putin’s aggression. And as president, I will stand strong with Ukraine and our NATO allies.”

Just hours after endorsing former President Donald Trump, Kennedy appeared at the Republican presidential candidate’s rally in Arizona.  RFK Jr. sounded off on the Democratic Party for its attacks against him and Trump, highlighting the similarities in goals they share.

Introducing Kennedy at his rally in Arizona, Trump said, “Tonight, I am very pleased to welcome a man who has been an incredible champion for so many of these values we all share. For the past 16 months, Robert F. Kennedy Junior has run an extraordinary campaign for president of the United States. Had he been allowed to enter the Democrat primary, he would have beaten Joe Biden. His candidacy has inspired millions of Americans, raised critical issues that have been too-long ignored, and brought together people from across the political spectrum in a positive campaign grounded in the American values of his father, Robert Kennedy, and his uncle, President Kennedy. I believe they would both be very proud.”
