WATCH: Trump Introduces RFK Jr. In Epic Way At Rally As Crowd Goes Wild, Announces Creation Of New Presidential Commission
After former Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently dropped out of the race and endorsed Donald Trump, the former president announced big plans for RFK Jr. Trump introduced Kennedy at his rally in Arizona on Friday, hours after the monumental endorsement. After that, the Republican presidential candidate outlined the creation of a commission on presidential assassinations RFK will head.
“Tonight, I am very pleased to welcome a man who has been an incredible champion for so many of these values we all share,” Trump said. “For the past 16 months, Robert F. Kennedy Junior has run an extraordinary campaign for President of the United States. Had he been allowed to enter the Democrat primary, he would have beaten Joe Biden.”
Trump further praised Kennedy’s campaign, which addressed pressing issues. “His candidacy has inspired millions of Americans, raised critical issues that have been too-long ignored, and brought together people from across the political spectrum in a positive campaign grounded in the American values of his father, Robert Kennedy, and his uncle, President Kennedy,” he continued. “I believe they would both be very proud.”
The former president noted that RFK Jr. understands the corruption within the political establishment. “He knows firsthand the risks incurred by leaders who stand up to the corrupt political establishment—he lost his father and uncle in service to our country, and Bobby himself was subject to repeated threats to his safety during the course of his campaign, while being denied protection by the Harris-Biden administration,” he said.
Trump proceeded to outline the commission he would be creating on presidential assassinations. “In honor of Bobby, I am announcing tonight that upon my election, I will establish a new independent presidential commission on Assassination Attempts,” he continued. “They will be tasked with releasing all remaining documents pertaining to President John F. Kennedy’s assassination and other events in question, and they also will conduct a rigorous review of the attack last month in Butler.”
The American Tribune previously reported on Trump hinting on RFK Jr.’s involvement in his administration if he wins the upcoming election. “He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time. I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it,” Trump previously said.
Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan recently outlined the two options she and Kennedy had, debating whether to say in the race or help Trump win the election. “There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris — Kamala Harris and (Tim) Walz presidency. Because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump,” she said. “Or we walk away right now and join forces with — with Donald Trump.” Shanahan added, “The question is … is the risk of a Harris-Walz presidency worth us staying in? And that’s the question we have to ask ourselves right now.”
